“The better we know ourselves the better equipped we are to heal our bodies, to heal our emotions, to heal the inner experience that allows us to love to the deepest degree in our world.” – Unknown
Hello! My name is Gracie Ewing. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern and National Certified Counselor (NCC). I am passionately committed to helping individuals and families thrive. I am here to be a safe, trusted support by listening, understanding, and validating the experiences of simply being human.
Professional experiences include working with individuals of all ages across various backgrounds in hospital, school, home, and office settings. These opportunities allowed me to work directly with diverse populations including individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental health/behavioral issues, substance abuse issues, trauma from physical/emotional/sexual abuse, recent incarceration, homelessness, as well as individuals who identify as LGBTQ+.
Through these experiences, I have gained an understanding that any person has the ability to overcome life’s obstacles, find meaning in life’s challenges, attain holistic wellbeing, and feel empowered by their own strengths and ability to be vulnerable and genuine in the process of therapy. I strongly believe the connection between humans in a safe, trusting environment creates the opportunity for healing and positive change.
My goal in therapy is to facilitate potential growth in clients to be able to apply therapeutic skills in their daily lives. I desire providing quality therapy from a client-centered/family-focused strengths-based approach. Within my sessions, I include mindfulness-based interventions and expressive therapeutic techniques such as art, writing, and play. Collaboratively, we will work together to identify personal challenges and pain, explore personal strengths and values, and reach a place of inner-peace.
I look forward to our therapeutic journey!
