“As long as you keep secrets and suppress information, you are fundamentally at war with yourself…The critical issue is allowing yourself to know what you know. That takes an enormous amount of courage.” ―
Hello! I am a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and graduate of UT Austin School of Social Work. During my education and career, I have had the experience working with individuals with a wide variety of needs. I have found, regardless of our backgrounds, we all have a need to feel safe and empowered. My goal is to always bring this into my own practice by providing clients with the tools they need to create their own meaningful change.
I am excited to work with individuals of all ages, families and couples. In particular, I have a passion for working with co-occurring disorders including mood and anxiety, substance use, eating, personality and trauma-related disorders. While my background is in Attachment Theory, I enjoy using Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), mindfulness practice, and eco-art therapy. It is important to me to be able adjust my practice to best meet the unique needs of each client. As such, I prioritize a trusting, open and authentic space to ensure that you feel empowered in your own growth.
Outside of my practice, I enjoy creating my own art, traveling, cooking and, most importantly, eating! As a native North Carolinian, I am continuing to explore Austin and discover things that encourage me to step outside my comfort zone.
I look forward to meeting with you and answering any questions you may have!
