At South Austin Counseling, fees are determined by individual providers, based upon experience, education, and background. Please see the "Meet The Counselors" page for information about providers and fees.
In-Network Insurance: At this time, Travis Van Rum - LCSW & Anne Dodson - LPC are our only In-Network Providers who are contracted with BCBS PPO and United Behavioral Health plans only.
We are happy to support you in getting reimbursement from your insurance company for services provided by any of our other providers if your plan offers out of network benefits. We would need your insurance and demographic information so we can obtain your eligibility and benefits from your insurance company. If you would like to file the claim yourself, we will gladly supply you with a Superbill which will have all the information you will need to complete your claim.
We encourage you to consider all that is involved when attempting to claim therapy sessions through your health insurance company. A therapist must make a diagnosis in order for your insurance company to consider your claim. Couple/relationship problems, parent/child problems, normal grieving, or "just having a hard time,"may not be considered "medically necessary" by your insurance company. Please be aware that using insurance benefits will require a mental health diagnosis, which will become a permanent part of your medical record. Out of caution and experience, we recommend that you pay directly for counseling if you can afford the service.
What is a Superbill?
A Superbill is a specialized invoice, which includes the procedure coding, diagnosis coding and session dates that your insurance carrier will need in order to reimburse you. We suggest calling your insurance company in advance to inquire about coverage for the service you are looking for.
Private Pay: We currently accept Cash, Check, and MasterCard, Visa, American Express, and Discover cards. We also accept HSA cards issued by your employer.
Cancellation Policy: If you miss your scheduled appointment, and you have not notified us at least 24 hours in advance, you will be required to pay the full cost of the scheduled session.
