“There is no standard normal. Normal is subjective. There are seven billion versions of normal on this planet.” ~Matt Haig
Welcome! Thank you for dropping by. I am Christi Vanderbilt, Licensed Professional Counselor Associate, working under the supervision of Tammie D. Martin, LPC-S. Do you often feel unseen or unheard? Because you are the expert of your own story, I promise to learn about your journey and the challenges you are facing. Together we can create a plan to help you move forward and reach the goals you have set for therapy, and I’ll be beside you along the way. My approach is person-centered, and I provide a safe and judgment-free space where you can be your authentic self in working through barriers and life transitions. I believe it shouldn't be so hard to live your best life.
I have 10 years of counseling experience in varying roles, as a school counselor, in agency settings, and in private practice at South Austin Counseling Services. I also work with children and teens to provide them with a confidential outlet to explore what unique strengths they bring to the world in order to assist them in learning new ways of working with others and understanding themselves. This helps young people adjust patterns of interacting that are no longer serving them well.
I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the California State University, Sacramento, 2000 and my Master of Science degree in School Counseling from the University of Phoenix, 2011. I am a board-certified counselor (NCC).
Let's explore effective coping mechanisms that can be added to your self-care toolbox to use in all facets of life. I look forward to teaming up. Contact me today to schedule a free consultation to determine if working together is the right fit, and we’ll get started on this counseling journey together.
